Sims 3 - News On New Expansion

I've heard news from various sites that the first expansion for Sims 3 is going to be about world adventures, (think bon voyage for sims 2!)

Thoughts on Sims 3

So I got the game after much toiling over whether or not I should bother. I like it but I feel it's lacking in the things I really liked about the first two games. The graphics are great, I can't argue with that. I have to play it on my laptop because the processor on my pc isn't up to par and I've already invested a lot of time and money into this game. The Sims 3 feels more like the sims console games than it does the actual pc version that we're so used to. It seems...

Does anyone know what is going on at the Sims2 Official site? For the last four days every time I go there I get the we will be back momentarily message--only they aren't. I usually go on in the morning so I don't know if this is true in the afternoon or evening. Has anyone heard anything?

Sim files that can't be defragmented

The last time I defragmented my computer I got a message that 5MB of files could not be defragmented. The pathway lead to N006 in my Sims2. I could not find the file indicated though. It said TempDBSegmentPackedFile_1213132563.tmp. No where in my N006 folder did I find such a file. I used my computer's find operation to look in N006 for it and it said not found. The extention indicates it should be a tempory file. I am puzzled and a bit worried. Has anyone else had this happen to them?...

Does any one here have Seasons? I am getting it but I have a question about the new neighborhood. I have custom neighborhoods. Will the new Maxis had neighborhood install over one of them? Will I have to renumber them to keep them? I hope not--it takes a lot of work to renumber everything in just one neighborhood.

Oddities in game

When playing University I started noticing that I occasionally get a transparent college student at the dorm. It isn't always the same one and all the other students wandering around are solid. So far it isn't any of the playable sims. Has anyone else ever had this or any other odd things happen?

Skill Surprise

I just had a toddler become a child and I had her practice chess. I got a big surprise when she got logic skill points faster than an adult wearing a thinking cap! She had none when she started. I had her working mainly on charisma with one creative point as a toddler. I never even bought the logic toy for her. She changed at the usual 6:00 PM Simtime and had four logic points when I sent her to bed!

OFB Disappointment

I just got Open For Business for Christmas and so far it is disappointing. When I saw the octogon roofs, I thought great, I can use them on my octogan houses. But even the smallest is too large! The houses have to be atleast two stories or the roof swallows them! On a one story it looks ridiculous! And the roof cheat does not work on them.

So far Bluewater Village does not impress me. I liked the downtown that came with nightlife better. I tried putting in the 3-in-one book store but...

Secret Society

I never paid much attention to the Secret Societies in University. I didn't have much interest in them and didn't try to get my students in one. Just recently though, a non playable sim became playable and to my surprise she was a member of a Secret Society. Right afterwards one of my born in the game sims who was in college got inducted into the same Secret Society. Nothing I had planned, she just made the right friends without me realizing they were in the Secret Society. The thing is that...

I got the Pets ep yesterday and the first thing I did was recreate two of my real pets into sim pets. The Create-a-Pet thing is a little tricky and I'm still trying to figure out how the layers work.

I think they're much cuter in real life. ;)...

Problem with Sims 2

okay well.
i got a new sims 2 because my other one was scratched up badly.
so yeah.
k anyway.

D: drive wont work for me. so i put it in E: drive and it works perfectly until 23% when it says "Please insert disk 2 and press OK" So i insert disk 2 and press ok. nothing happens. i phoned so many places about it and EB...

Looking for a program

I'm looking for a program. I had it before I changed computers now I can't seem to remember what it was called. Someone which I think it was wulfpaw248 suggested to me a long time ago but can't be sure. I think it might of come from the sims resourse. It helps with x and y of an object. I was working on chairs and curtains and they were bleeding throw. I like to finsh the chairs so I can add some new living room sets to my site. And the curtains aswell.
